Twain Scanning with PHP and saving to database

PHP itself cannot scan using twain because twain would be client side and require a Java object or something like that.

I have found this ActiveX Twain module from DynamicTwain which is really good, and i have used it in my new intranet system. A user can scan something and then PHP uploads the file and saves the filename to a database, then afterwords the user is able to se the scanned document. The DynamicTwain ActiveX component is awesome and not that expensive. I highly recommend it. You can even edit your scanning with this component before uploading it. It can save into alot of formats including PDF and JPG. The only thing i didnt like was their example with PHP because im using PHP with MSSQL and their examples was with MYSQL and clearly not ment for the MS world. If you are having problems with this component and they cant help you, write to me and i will be more than happy to help. I have run into a lot of problems with their component which gave me some headaches, but i solved it.

You can find it here
