Picking the right domain name
The most important decision for your domain to rank good on search engines is to analyse the keywords you want to be found on and then incorporate them into your domain name..
Lets say that you are selling cars. The best domain name here would be www.cars.com, But ofcourse that would also be a big search and not very distinct. Lets say that you reside in arizona and sell cars. You could pick a domain name like www.buy-used-cars-arizona.com
When a user searches for "buy car in arizona" the first thing the search engines look at is the domain name. As you can se here www.buy-used-cars-arizona.com is pretty close to that and would rank good for this. But you would also need to have content on the site corresponding to this, i mean that if you had a flower shop with that name, it would not be any good and you could get penalized for trying to promote your site for something that it is not.
But if you are a car dealer in Arizona then that would be good content and you would get a good ranking. I know that is not an ideal domain name. But many buy other names for seo because the search engines values the domain name the most.
As i said this is just some free pointers im giving you here so i dont wanna spend all day in doing it.
